Power User Experience (UX): All the Feels
User experience (UX) without all the feels is like yoga without alignment. Customer value and intention, alignment and users, accessibility and more accessibility -- it all matters. But how can we really make government better? What is the samadhi of UX at the State of Colorado? How do we open our minds, drop the assumptions, and actually build something better for human beings?

Devices as a Service (DaaS): Enabling The Modern Workforce
The goal of this presentation is to discuss Device as a Service (Daas) solutions that are relevant to Public Sector customers, including the State of Colorado. It is not a secret that DaaS solutions exist. The "bottle-neck" is helping IT leaders to understand that these solutions are customized to their environment. The good news is that there are some simple steps to take, to help with obtaining relevant value and saving considerations. Furthermore, some tips on hurdling past some of the obstacles that you may encounter.

DaaS solutions deliver various "customized consumption models" that simplify how commercial organizations equip users with the right hardware, support, fleet management, and lifecycle services to improve end-user productivity, IT efficiency, and cost predictability.

DaaS solutions are much more than tying devices and services into efficient financing programs. DaaS solutions deliver comprehensive computing solutions with relevant devices and accessories that align with IT "refresh goals". Even as important, finding a simple and legal way to finance your solution.

Combined with support, lifecycle management services and "best practices", DaaS saves time, money and provides a predictable client environment for staff and your users.

Cyber Crisis Response – Lessons Learned from the Front Line
Earlier this year, Colorado became the first state in the nation to declare a state of emergency in support of a cyber incident, and they won’t be the last. Media stories concerning government agencies falling victim to cybercrimes are becoming more and more prevalent. At this point it is not if, but when you will fall victim. There is good news though! Agencies in Colorado have survived cyberattacks and are willing to share their lessons learned to help other government organizations prepare for cyber crisis response. This timely session will detail the CDOT ransomware attack, include tangible takeaways, and provide scalable guidelines to take back to your team.

Do you know who's on your network?
A day in the life of a SOC analyst...what do cybersecurity teams see that IT teams don't. What are the tools, methods and skills needed to properly manage a cybersecurity team. How do these teams differ and why these teams should not be the same people.

Added Information requested:
What we were thinking is to have our CISO discuss our view on the IT Security and Cybersecurity landscape. There's a lot of confusion on how these duties are similar and different and we have some opinions on where to draw these lines and differentiate the goals of these two important areas (what we call defense and detection) and the associated skills and toolsets needed to be successful. In addition, we would like to show a re-enactment of an actual incident to show the end-user experience side, the IT side and what the Security Operations team actually saw and how they reacted to such an event to demonstrate the importance of user awareness, IT security defensive measures and the importance of a security operations team and how they work together.

Find the Problem Before It Becomes a Problem
What if you lived in a world where you could use machine learning to do things like help predict an future outage and how services will be negatively impacted before it happens, so that your customer experience and revenue remain unchanged? In today’s ever changing world of IT, the need to be truly proactive is all the more critical. IT has only one chance to get it ‘right’. For years, IT has tried to be proactive by setting alerts at ever lower thresholds. We all know that by their nature, alerts are reactive, a threshold has already been crossed. This ever-increasing number of alerts has resulted in the alert storms that we are all too familiar with. Come learn how innovative organizations have moved from today’s reactive world of alerts to the predictive and proactive world of tomorrow by leveraging metrics and machine learning to see the problem before it is a problem.

Containerized Application Management at Scale.
Kubernetes, originally founded by Google in 2014, is now the de facto container orchestration platform. Companies looking to deploy containers in a production scale environment benefit enormously from features such as scaling, self-healing, service discovery, and load balancing when leveraging Kubernetes. Kubernetes is additionally an open-source platform in which companies can contribute among a large ecosystem of partners and take advantage of running Kubernetes whether on-premise or in the cloud. To advocate the adoption of Kubernetes, Google Cloud engineers have created Google Kubernetes Engine, a managed service for deploying containers powered by Kubernetes. Google has been running containers in production for over 15 years, and customers can take advantage of a managed service that lets them run containers at production scale on Google infrastructure. During this event, we will review the basic foundations for running containers in a production environment using Kubernetes on Google Kubernetes Engine.
